We tried this coffee based on a recommendation from Slickdeals.net, and because I am always looking for an internet coffee purchase that is good quality and trustworthy of buying. In our home, we dont like decaf or flavored coffees, just full dark roasted coffees that have kick. We also drink coffee everyday, and only in the morning. We have a thermal carafe Bunn maker (got a deal on Amazon) and a good burr grinder (clearance from Starbucks) and always grind our own.
We also started with French Roast since its something we can compare to other brands you can buy instore today: Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Millstone, or 8 O'clock brands.
This coffee I can honestly say smells as fresh and sweeter than the store brands, but as powerful as say Starbucks. In our drip grind setting, it definately grinds a bit finer, whereas a Seattle's or Starbucks is not (all at room temperature). We try to use alot of coffee grind per pot so if you are familiar with the "Barista" Starbucks grinder, we fill the hopper about 3/4 for a 10-cup batch. The coffee has a great smell brewed for sure, but definately mellower than the store brands. For taste, this is very nice, and without any bitterness. One thing we recognize with brands like Starbucks is the darker bold roasts like Italian, French, and Komodo Dragon is they are good, but can be bitter consistentantly.
We recommend this coffee, and will next order the Kilimanjaro. |

Really enjoyed this blend and the roast.
Often times French Roast coffees from other companies are "over roasted" this is not the case with the French From Pura Vida.
Couple this with Pura Vida's programs to help at risk kids throughout the world and you have an ABSOLUTE WINNER.
I'm going to purchase other coffees from Pura Vida |

To go along with the Melitta Mill & Brew coffee maker that I bought on Amazon, I went with this Pura Vida French Roast coffee. The results are amazing.
I have mine set to grind at #6 and I add one more scoop than I'm supposed to. The result? Amazingly smooth coffee. It reminds me of the coffee that I get at those small diners that have coffee that is just fantastic. Great great stuff. |

| A friend visiting raved about this coffee so I purchased some French Roast and Breakfast blend. The French is excellent. As you'd expect, dark, full body but with a clean, smooth finish. I using this in a Gaggia Super Auto and the coffee and espresso is superb. Haven't tried the Breakfast blend yet. This coffee is well priced and as others have mentioned, is a good cause. I've previously been quite happy with Trader Joe's Ultra Dark (Double Dark) and Volcano bends but I might stick with the Pura Vida. |
Great coffee at a great price

| We love this coffee. It's very delicious and convenient to come in the mail from Amazon. We prefer French roast and to let you know our tastes; our other favorite brands are Peet's and Allan Bros. We don't really like Seattle's Best or Tully's. |
